A woman with curly hair wearing sunglasses, a white shirt, and a purple apron, stands under a large beige umbrella in a field with a painting easel in front of her, smiling at the camera. In the background, there are hay bales and a tractor, with mountains and a cloudy sky overhead.

Nature and the play of light are my inspiration.

Marie Gabrielle was born in Paris, France where she studied textile design and worked as a designer and colorist.

After moving to California, she took her first watercolor class and began a lifelong passion with the medium.

Nature is her inspiration, and especially the play of light on the landscape or subject matter. Most of her paintings are realized in plain air.

Marie’s work is internationally recognized and collected.

She lives in Santa Cruz, California with her family, and as much as possible, in Provence, France.

You can follow her and her lovely life en plein air here.
